To conduct this research the method used was face-to-face surveys of 500 college students aged 18-22 about their listening habits. The answers should be limited to their main method for listening to music.
Comparing the answers to a year ago with the new answers, changes were observed in preferences of college students.
This year less students said listening to MP3s as their main way of listening to music than last year. A decrease could also been see with the students listening CDs or Radio as their main way of listening music.
The opposite were happen with the students listening to music on MP4 players or mobile phones. This year there has been a sharp increase in the numbers. The same happen with the numbers of students listening to music using internet downloads on their computers as their main way to listening music. We could found a slight increase in this point.
Students using internet radio as their main way of listening to music has been increased too. Yet, we could observe a slight decrease of students using another ways to listen music. The number of students not listening to music at all has remained stable at 7.
The results show us that most students prefer listening to music in their MP4s or mobile phones.
