Some people think that there is nothing better than reading while others prefer a screen version of the books. So what is better way to discover the characters and the plot of the books – watching film or reading them?
As for me, I prefer reading books than watching screen versions. First of all, books give rein to ours imagination. We create appearance and behavior of the characters by our own. While watching a film gives us specific interpretation of the director.
Furthermore, books give the readers more details than films. The author lays bare inner state of the characters, their inner reflections. Consequently, our understanding of all actions becomes clearer. In the film many details are skipped. Usually it happened, because there is not much time to explain everything in two hours.
Also books enrich our vocabulary and writing skills. It is especially useful if people read books in original to improve their ability in foreign languages.
Nevertheless, some people think that screen version consume less time and it is more enjoyable to watch colorful picture on the screen than read books.
To sum up, I wanted to say that everybody decide what is better for them. But personally I prefer reading books because they increase our intellectual abilities and skills.
