My wife just gave birth to our daughter 7 month ago. She must cook soup for the baby every day. Recently, I have found a great baby soup shop with high quality so my wife could relieve stress with this cooking.
But this morning, the shop closed. My wife complained to me about her fat figure because of having no time for excercise in the morning due to the cooking. "Exercise is the only way to get a flat stomach after having a baby", she said. "You can go out to do excercise, I can manage this! " I said firmly. My wife expressed doubts in her eyes and started to speak but I raised a finger to her lips. "Just go! Believe me" I said. Even I don't have any idea with cooking, I still want to do this because I love my wife and I want her to have time for pamper herself.
I finished off my coffee and put my wife's apron (/ˈeɪprən/) on. I started to chop the carrots very finely and slice the beef thinly. Then, I put olive into the pan and lighted the cooker. When I was consulting the recipe from cooking book, the flames grown higher and the oil in the pan caught fire. Firstly, I was confused - don't know what to do. The oil splashed onto and set the apron on fire. "Calm down, calm down! I managed to fix the problem". I thought. I found it very lucky that I can't put the fire out, but unfortunately my wife 's favourite apron was gone. Finally, I could just finish the dish for our baby before my wife backed.
My wife was all filled with admiration for my "achievement". She put a new film in her camera and took a picture of me and my first special dish. I'm going to buy her a new apron for sure but I assure that she must take much time to find out what happened with her favourite apron.
