ALESSANDRO DI PRISCO – DUETEMPI
Duetempi is a clock formed of two plates, one in the other, folded and laser cut. The inner plate is the back, the external plate the dial. These two plates have different colors and are interchangeable: they result polychromatic and give the chance to match different shapes with different colors.
Duetempi has no numbers on, so that we can rest the clock upon a flat surface or attach it to the wall in the position we prefer.
ANGELO FARINA – LUNA
Luna is a particular centre-piece, meant to furnish but above all to enhance the inner poetry and the esthetic value that fruit has. Fruit means color and as well as in a painting, each apple, peach or lemon needs to have its own frame. Only tiny sides of the object rest on the table and this structure emphasizes the elevation concept. The object framework consists in alternate circles and gaps: the outtake meets the fruit, creating a fresh mix of air and nature. Therefore Luna is the best choice to preserve fruit in an optimal way.
DARIO GAUDIO – RONDINE
The kitchenware collection Rondine finds its origin in a simple question: is it possible to put the cookware away preventing the part used for cooking touching the worktop? The special handgrip solves this problem and its particular shape allows the user to tidy up the three utensils on the shelf, which has been designed on purpose.
DARIO GAUDIO – OFANTO
Ofanto is a nested coffee cup set. The cups show a particular decoration, similar to a dried river bed: actually it is a concave furrow, designed in order to let the water flow as the just washed cups are nested.
ALBERTO GHIRARDELLO – PLANO
A two-dimensional flat sheet becomes a tridimensional object, a tray provided with two comfortable grips.
A sole contour is laser-engraved out of a stainless steel plate 1mm thick and overboard folded to obtain the two handgrips.
Plano has been designed to be produced in shiny steel version but it is also possible to have it in colored varnishing.
Since Plano is extremely easy to manufacture, it can be produced in different sizes and lengths too (small, medium e large).
ALBERTO GHIRARDELLO – TRICK
Trick is an ordinary but smart chopping board since it includes a chopping knife. The blade can be put into the board thickness, thanks to an apposite crack. Moreover we find two little magnets to extremes: these are provided in order to make the inserted blade firm and to avoid fortuitous falls. Furthermore it is possible to easily reproduce Trick in many different wood essences and sizes.
ALBERTO GHIRARDELLO –FLORA&FAUNA
As the name suggests, FLORAeFAUNA is a sole glass block that can contain plant and animal life. FLORAeFAUNA is at the same time a single flowerpot and a fishbowl, mixing together two different purposes in a natural and harmonic way.
1 vase, 1 fish, 1 flower.
MARCO EBA GHISALBERTI – FLAT
The main feature of the Flat set is the saucer design. The traditional rounded saucer has now expanded one of its corner, leaving the necessary space to create a little hollow. There you can put the paddle used to mix sugar, all in a basic design. Thanks to this trick, the ritual of serving coffee becomes something tidier and it is also possible to put saucers and paddles together away in an easier way.
MARCO EBA GHISALBERTI – SALPEPE
Salpepe is a set consisting in a saltshaker and a peppershaker. If you catch a glimpse of that, it may seem a pure formality exercise but actually it is a result of an ergonomic study. The ample flare, apart from making the manufactures firmer, has been designed to ease the refill process, which is often an inconvenient operation, due to the small sizes that this sort of objects usually have. Their flare makes them similar to some kinds of scoops, generally used to collect salt out of its box, or similar to a funnel, where pepper can be easily poured.
WALTER GIOVANIELLO – TUTTOQUA
The wire drawing has always been an old secondary method used to create handles supplying products turned on a lathe. This method becomes independent between the XVIII and XIX century, together with the exercise of often complex weaves, used to produce fruit bowls, centre-pieces and vases. To obtain these drawn semi- finished-products, a cylinder-piston system works as a press to squeeze the clay. This clay goes through a pierced fringe, placed overboard the tube itself. It is possible to have a manual or mechanical push.
WALTER GIOVANIELLO – QUOTIDIANA
Quotidiana has arisen from the observation of an ordinary act, something that everybody does at least four or five times a day, to turn a cup in the mouth! The little cup handle reminds us of the charge key that old pendulum clocks have; this is closely related to what “the coffee moment” means: time for break and an everyday boost. With this project we represent our Italian-being and our relationship with coffee, and the “Made in Italy” comes out also of behaviors, habits and customs, not only of productions. Quotidiana is the result of the Italian Idea and Manual Skill, entirely produced within the national territory, precisely in the HandMade Irpinian area, in the ceramic Bhumi workshop.
MARIA DOMENICA RUSSO – ICESPRING_HandCraftDesign
Icespring is part of a projects serie, arisen from the innovative concept “Landscape Interior Design”, in which the nature becomes part of our domesticity: nature now delimits and wins back its spaces, attacking and eco-contaminating the fixed limits. A nature, that sometimes is weeding, in places extremely delicate, transforms our space perception and localizes our attention for those emotional microcosms that dilate our perceptive skills. The designer is the person who takes control of the spontaneity of the nature, rebuilding the micro-landscapes, organizing shapes to let the content express itself according to precise rules. The designed product is to be defined and completed, animated by the host nature.
ALESSANDRO STABILE – LAPEL
With a simple touch, a two-dimensional sheet becomes immediately an object. The idea is to repeat this spontaneous and common habit, turning it into a manufactory output and gaining volumes out of a metal sheet. Here it comes a serie of little desk containers.
ALESSANDRO STABILE – RENE’
An iron plate ringlet whirls with harmony in the space, creating a volume that is constantly changing, depending on the point of view. Here it comes a functionally perfect umbrella stand. The umbrellas form a single file, along the spiral section, the tallest in the centre and the pocket umbrellas externally, so they are easier to find.
ALESSANDRO STABILE – ROOT
A serie of ceramic vases has been designed, observing the shape of the roots, which are different for every plant. As a result, we have three log-cones. They appear turned over if we compare them to the traditional vase shapes, but they are supposed to support the natural roots growth. Moreover, the vase and his flowerpot holder are an entire block.
