Das Renaissance-Ei von Faberge
Das Renaissance-Ei wurde im Jahre 1894 in der Werkstatt von Michail Perkhin herstellt.
Materialien: Weißer Achat, Gold, transluzides grünes, rotes und blaues Email, opakes schwarzes und weißes Email, Diamanten, Rubine
Dieses Ei ist das letzte, das durch Zar Alexander III. für seine Frau in Auftrag gegeben wurde; der Zar starb acht Monate nach seiner Fertigstellung. Es handelt sich um die Nachbildung eines Schmuckkästchens, welches von Le Roy 1700 in Amsterdam geschaffen wurde und sich heute im Grünen Gewölbe in Dresden befindet.
Anfangs wurde es voll mit Perlen. Die Kaiserin hat damit Perlenkette bestellt.
Die agathe Schale ist mit eng anliegenden Platinnetz dekoriert. Zwischen Platinnetz und Agath gibt es keinen Spalt.
